Shimmer 03:59
There were dark days, there were grey days, there were blue days in between There were times when, I was wonderin’, would ya stay with me? Then the sun came out, it came shining down Come out and shimmer for me like the sunlight on the sea Your eyes are oceans, I hold you closer, closer to me I hold a glimmer of hope like a castaway on a boat Out on the water, ya come out and shimmer, shimmer for me Shimmer for me There were things that, that we both said, that we both know we didn’t mean Angry words and misunderstandins’,’bout the dumbest things Then, we worked it out, turned it all around Come out and shimmer for me like the sunlight on the sea Your eyes are oceans, I hold you closer, closer to me I hold a glimmer of hope like a castaway on a boat Out on the water, ya come out and shimmer, shimmer for me Never givin’ up, we’re never givin’ in We’ll keep tryin’, ‘til we fall in love again Then the sun came out, it came shining down Come out and shimmer for me like the sunlight on the sea Your eyes are oceans, I hold you closer, closer to me I hold a glimmer of hope like a castaway on a boat Out on the water, ya come out and shimmer, shimmer for me Shimmer for me

I stopped in for a drink or two with a friend of mine who was passing though And there you were standing all alone, hadn’t seen you in this place before Our eyes connected and your smile suggested I walk on over and say hello, hello But, I’ve gotta go The night that we almost met is one that I won’t forget Your smile and my passing glances, you only get so many chances in life But, I had to go, I was in tow with a friend headed out to the show that night The night that we almost met and I won’t forget about you The days passed and the months did too spent hoping I’d run into you But faith and fate can intervene when luck in life can seem so mean ‘Cause there you were on another night I walked right over and this time we got it right We got it right The night that we almost met is one that I won’t forget Your smile and my passing glances, you only get so many chances in life But, I had to go, I was in tow with a friend, headed out to the show that night The night that we almost met and I’m leavin’ here with you tonight Since that night, we’ve come so far and I thank my lucky stars above, for what almost wasn’t The night that we almost met is one that I won’t forget Your smile and my passing glances, you only get so many chances in life But, I had to go, I was in tow with a friend, headed out to the show that night The night that we almost met and I’m never ever leavin’ you No, I’m never ever leavin’ you

Sherpa 04:12
You can’t do this alone You can’t climb by yourself You need someone to guide you You need somebody’s help I have climbed up this mountain Many times, many ways I know every twist and turn Along the way And I’ll be your sherpa guide you up the mountain Pick you up and carry you if you fall I’ll lead you through it all I’ll be your sherpa if you call You’ve come to this place After all these years Just to find your way and to start again And I’ll be your sherpa guide you up the mountain Pick you up and carry you if you fall I’ll lead you through it all I’ll be your sherpa if you call And though the days may be long, well, we will carry on And when the nights get so cold, well, you’ve got a hand to hold And I’ll be your sherpa guide you up the mountain Pick you up and carry you if you fall I’ll lead us through it all I’ll be your sherpa if you call When you call

My Addiction 04:13
Just one more night, that’s all I’ll need I swear this time is the last for me ‘Cause we’ve got problems, you know it’s true But I can’t solve them without you Well, you know it when you just can’t quit Like my coffee and your cigarettes Can’t put ‘em down now once they’re lit Got no resistance I need my fix, you’re the habit that I can’t kick Too late for prevention I need intervention for my addiction I should have walked away when you left me Standing in the aftermath of the storms you bring But in your sunshine eyes I, I find my highest highs And I forget the pain I know you’ll bring Well, you know it when you just can’t quit Like my coffee and your cigarettes Can’t put ‘em down now once they’re lit Got no resistance I need my fix, you’re the habit that I can’t kick Too late for prevention I need intervention for my addiction And I’m on a plane tonight far from these city lights And in the desert sun, I’ll break from my addiction Well, you know it when you just can’t quit Like my whiskey and your cigarettes Can’t put ‘em down now once we’re lit Got no resistance I need my fix, you’re the habit that I can’t kick Too late for prevention I need intervention for my addiction You’re my addiction

Everywhere you look these days our heads are in a downward gaze I guess we got the whole world in our hands Got mail and text and messaging and Facebook friends on Instagram where everybody’s posting everything We tweet and post and snap and chat and Hey!, did you see that dancin’ cat video, my friend shared with the world? Distracted, dull and disconnected, I think I’ve become affected to the crazy shit that’s on my phone My hand-held has gotten out of hand, got to turn this thing off before it rings again ‘Cause I’m handheld and helpless Missing life just staring at my screen Connected but, clueless It’s an anti-social media disease Hey pretty girl walkin’ down the street, got your head lookin’ down typing furiously, if you don’t look up I think we’re ‘bout to meet And hey you in that car behind me! I hope that you will brake in time, ‘cause I see you typin’,typin’ on your little screen Lost my wallet, keys and credit cards, the cash is gone and so’s the car, but the worst thing is I can’t find my phone Now, I can’t Uber, Lyft or taxi, I don’t recall my address exactly, I guess I’ll have to find my own way home Now, I feel quite at liberty, since my battery ran out, I’m finally breakin’ free ‘Cause I’m handheld and helpless Missing life just staring at my screen Connected but, clueless It’s an anti-social media disease ‘Cause I’m handheld and helpless Missing life just staring at my screen Connected but, clueless It’s an anti-social media disease ‘Cause I’m handheld and helpless missing life just staring at my screen Connected but, clueless It’s an anti-social media disease It’s my anti-social media disease

You know those days when time just files, when someone’s on your mind? When you can’t stop thinkin’ ‘bout them, and lose all track of time When Mondays come and Tuesdays go and Thursday’s here before you know And you find yourself feelin’ like everyday’s a Friday at five It feel’s like a Friday but, it’s Tuesday afternoon Feels like the weekend’s started again, and I’m sittin’ next to you Feels like a Friday but, its Thursday at two Feels like the work week’s ended and the party’s just beginnin’ When I find myself thinkin’ ‘bout you Now, I know what you’re thinkin’, well, maybe this boy’s been drinkin’ ‘Cause it’s Monday and it’s rainin’ ..and the boss wants overtime... But, I don’t notice the days that pass, the sands of time in that hourglass When I’m thinkin’ ‘bout you, it’s always Friday at five It feel’s like a Friday but, it’s Tuesday afternoon Feels like the weekend’s started again, and I’m sittin’ next to you Feels like a Friday but, its Thursday at two Feels like the work week’s ended and the party’s just beginnin’ When I find myself thinkin’ ‘bout you I love this feelin’, like a three day weekend That keeps repeatin’, all over again ‘Cause it Feel’s like a Friday but, it’s Tuesday afternoon Feels like the weekend’s started again, and I’m layin’ next to you Feels like a Friday but, its Thursday at two Feels like the work week’s ended and the party’s just beginnin’ When the drinks are being blended and the music’s never endin’ And the time becomes suspended when we’re just sleepin’ in When I find myself thinkin’ ‘bout you Yeah, thinkin’ ‘bout you Feels like a Friday

Good intensions, choose your path And so you follow to please your Dad And you will study science and math And be an engineer ‘cause music, well, “there’s no money in that” And so it goes the choices are made You’ll get a job when you graduate And so you wait on the Big Dream Schools and summers come and go Jobs, wives and children will follow Business cards say who you are Status and stuff, boy you’ve come so far Years roll by ’til it all breaks apart The tears in her eyes, you broke her heart And now you begin a brand new start Let the sun shine in Warms your heart to dream again Just like when you were a kid Before life interrupted it Time to start, start right now You don’t know how It’ll all work out It’s not too late to chase your Big Dream

about

“The Big Dream” is a collection of eight songs about finding inner beauty in people, of helping others make make positive changes in their lives, and seeking one’s dream despite challenges, addictions and distractions. These are songs about being positive and finding the bright side in life. The title track is a moving and personal account of finally chasing my own dream of recording my own music to share with the world. I hope these songs brighten your day and inspire you to be your best self.
